Today’s post is a comparison between Cricut brand transfer tape and Frisco Craft premium clear transfer tape. If you are reading this, then you are like me and are frustrated with the constant need to reapply the pressure on the transfer tape only for the vinyl not to stick. I have been frustrated because the Cricut brand does not seem to adhere to all the little details in my vinyl projects. This has caused me to waste way too much vinyl on failed project attempts. My frustrations took me to the internet—mainly Amazon.

I found two highly reviewed transfer tapes that were priced perfectly. I decided to buy both because I am currently making window decals of my squadron’s patch and I wanted to get a better-quality transfer tape. I used a tester decal—one I messed up during weeding—to see if the Frisco transfer tape had worked. The vinyl I am using for this project is Oracle 651 which has been amazing to work with. I was pleasantly surprised with how well it picked up the vinyl. For extra measure I used the scraper tool on both sides of the decal to make sure the transfer tape adhered to all the vinyl. It picked up the vinyl amazingly!

While the transfer tape pulled up the vinyl well, some of the vinyl remained attached to the transfer tape and not to the surface I was applying it to. This could be because the surface was not clean, or I did not apply enough pressure initially when placing the vinyl on my laptop, but it did stick and came out looking great. Overall, I would definitely recommend this brand over Cricut. You also get more for your money with the Frisco brand. It comes with more transfer tape per roll and the price is easy on the bank account. I also purchased transfer tape made by the brand Craftables. I have not tested this brand yet but once I do, I will post a review!
